What are microcredentials?
Microcredentials are short, focused courses designed to elevate your skills and knowledge in business, hospitality, tech, and more. They are typically streamlined to provide students with targeted subjects that can be completed in a short amount of time. While a course may take months to complete, microcredentials allow learners to narrow their field of study and condense their learning down to a few weeks. Microcredentials are a great option for students as they provide the flexibility to study at your own pace and offer the versatility you need to tailor your education to your ultimate career goals.
What are the benefits of microcredentials?
- Enhance your existing skills and fill in gaps to stay competitive.
- Connect with industry professionals and fellow students.
- Upgrade and retrain existing skills to improve employment options.
- Faster to complete than full programs and diplomas.
- Customize your education to build the skills you, and employers, want.
- Gain practical skills with hands-on experience.
- Earn stackable credits that can build towards a larger qualification.
How do microcredentials work?
Microcredentials can be offered online, or in person. They take less time to complete than courses, programs and diplomas. At TSOM, our microcredentials can be completed in just 36 hours over a six-week period. This streamlined learning provides students with the flexibility to learn, upskill or retrain at a pace that works for them.
Once complete, students will have acquired specific skills that are desirable in the current job market and a credential to elevate their resume.
