We're excited to share Volume 5, Issue 8 of our Student Services newsletter! We are already well into the month of August, so I encourage everyone to enjoy these final weeks of summer. In this issue, you'll find important updates, helpful resources, and promising opportunities to enrich and support your student journey at the Toronto School of Management.


I am pleased to report that the inaugural 2024 GUS Colleges Canada Summer Games was a great success. This two-day event was a spectacular display of athletic talent and school spirit from all four participating institutions, celebrating athletic prowess, teamwork, and school spirit. The 2024 GUS Canada Summer Games was definitely a highlight of the academic year, inspiring students to strive for excellence both on and off the field.

We want to thank all student athletes who participated – well done! From all of us here at TSOM, we are extremely proud of your achievements and performance at the games.

Announcements

1)     For several of our activities and field trips, we have had students register and simply not show up. NOT SHOWING UP to an activity takes away a spot/seat that could have been reserved for other students that had a genuine interest in attending. Effective immediately, repeat offenders have been temporarily barred from attending college activities and will be automatically removed from registration for activities until further notice.


It is your responsibility to attend activities that you sign up for and to inform [email protected] of any cancellation 48 hours prior to departure.  


2)     You are invited to Set Up for Success: Student Immigration Information Session and Open House


We are delighted to invite you to Set Up for Success: Student Immigration Information Session and Open House on August 28, at 5:30 p.m., located on our campus at 22 College Street. This event is designed to help you discover new programs at TSOM to build toward your career goals. Additionally, we will provide key information on extending your study permit to facilitate your continued learning at TSOM.

  • Immigration Student Advising (ISA) presentation and free immigration counseling on study permit renewals

  • Free resume review

  • Explore new programs

  • Special tuition fees

  • Flexible payment plans

  • Application fee waiver – valid for September - November 2024 intakes*

  • On-the-spot admissions

  • Lucky-draw sponsored by Guard.me

  • Free, on-the-spot academic counseling for study plan and second program selection

*This application fee waiver is only available to students who attend the August 28, 2024, TSOM Student Information Session and Open House.

Reminders

  • Please be reminded that you can always book either in person or virtual appointments with all our departments via our Microsoft booking portal. Please take advantage of this portal to access all of our services available to you!

  • We highly encourage you to get your TSOM student ID card – please schedule an appointment with us to come collect! Email [email protected] for an appointment. For the safety of all those on campus, you are encouraged to wear your student ID with the complimentary lanyard and ID pouch that was issued to you.

  • Please check the expiry date of your study permit. If your student permit is about to expire, you may need to file for an extension. Please email [email protected] if you require assistance. 

  • Please always ensure that you have valid health insurance. Valid health insurance means that you have international student health insurance that is not expired. Please email [email protected] to inquire about renewing your health insurance.
